Weekly Share: Elle Luna, “The Crossroads of Should and Must”

I get it - you can’t afford to become a full-time rock climber and still save for college, but stay with me in the dream phase for just a little longer. The bigger issue is that we don’t dream enough, not that we’re not practical enough.

In that spirit, this week’s share is Elle Luna’s beautifully written and illustrated essay “The Crossroads of Should and Must”, which she later expanded into a beautiful book

Elle has major Silicon Valley street cred as a former designer at IDEO who later worked on apps such as Uber, Medium and Mailbox. When she stopped to rethink her life she realized:

“There are two paths in life: Should and Must. We arrive at this crossroads over and over again. And each time, we get to choose…

Choosing Must creates the kind of work that puts ripples through the universe.

But it starts as a whisper, a call from somewhere far away.”
